Zen, but Eclectic
When approaching the branding for KOI Design, I chose to look into the language of minimalist design. One of the most defining factors of minimalist design is the amount of negative space. It is not always about what’s there, but about what’s not there. That being said, KOI Design is still a design firm, full of artists and personalities. The branding needed to reflect that as well.
Business Cards for Designers
The final business card design employed the minimalist design that KOI Designs is famous for. With a crisp white satin finish on the card, interrupted only by the recognizable koi logo, the KOI Design business card leaves a big impact for such minimal visible graphics.
The KOI Design stationary needed to keep the minimalist motif while also displaying a clear higherarchy and visibility. Using the KOI Design standard font and logo choices and incorporating the graphic element of the single red line, the KOI Design stationary evokes a high quality preciousness that makes it feel less like a memo and more like and important text.
